I have pushed my body to the limit with Rock Climbing, Pole Vaulting, slacklining, and other extreme sports.
When I came to yoga, I was surprised to discover that I wasn’t into pushing my body any longer.
When I come to the mat, for my personal practice, or to teach, my goal is to be in the body. Becoming a Reiki Master has taught me all about the subtle energies and chakras in the body.
By combining these two passions and philosophies I came to teach Chakra Flow, Natural Body Yoga, and Yoga in the Woods.
I love to teach students about how to move their bodies with effortless effort. How to breath and move efficiently. How to be at peace even when in the middle of a storm.
Yoga has enhanced my passions of rock climbing, slacklining, and experiencing the outdoors. I feel more connected to my movements, to my breath and calmness, and I am overall a more balanced person with yoga.
I trained with Joanne Vandenhengel in her 200 Yoga Teacher Training at BlissBlissBliss and continue to grow my yoga knowledge every day.

Specialities: Ashtanga Flow, Ashtanga Primary Series, Mysore
I fell in love with Ashtanga Yoga by chance. During my studies at WVU I maintained a regular yoga practice by attending classes locally. After graduation, I found myself pursuing a Master’s degree in China without the option of attending yoga classes. (At least not in English) I tried learning as much as I could online and following Internet based classes, but I couldn’t help but feel like I needed a real foundation in yoga. I had been practicing yoga for years, but didn’t have much yoga knowledge beyond a handful of postures. I decided to attend a yoga teacher training solely for my own personal growth as a yogi.
My search led me to India since I was already living in Asia, the motherland of yoga and especially Ashtanga. After my first Ashtanga Primary Series I was sold. This was absolutely the yoga practice and direction I had been looking for. A month long intensive immersion into Ashtanga and Ayurveda gave me a strong foundation and love for teaching that I didn’t know I had.
I love Ashtanga yoga because it allows me to connect deeper to my practice by following the Primary Series. It brings a meditative aspect to yoga I have never experienced and I hope to be able to share my passion for yoga and Ashtanga with you!

Andrea went to her first yoga class reluctantly. While dealing with the stress of a doctoral program, a friend suggested she try yoga. After grudgingly going to the class, she was hooked. It was a heated vinyasa flow, and she fell in the love with the practice immediately. As a former classically trained ballerina, Andrea has a deep and abiding appreciation for the body in movement. Yoga allowed her to find the flexibility and strength that she’d lost since retiring her pointe shoes. Even more, yoga provided something that dancing didn’t; yoga allowed her to be present and mentally clear. Andrea was drawn to yoga’s emphasis on balance—the dance between dynamic and static movement, effort and ease, resolve and compassion. In other words, yoga helped Andrea find her way before she knew she was lost.
After her first yoga class, it didn’t take long before Andrea began a daily practice. A little over two years into her yoga journey, Andrea decided to combine yoga with another one of her passions: teaching. Under the direction and guidance of Nicole Yost, Andrea enrolled in Suncrest Yoga’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program. She completed her RYT certification in May 2015. In Andrea’s classes, students can expect an all-levels dynamic, energetic, and challenging flow, accompanied by an eclectic selection of music. Andrea has a passion for safely guiding students into arm balances and inversions. For her, nothing compares to helping a student find ease in a pose or nailing his/her first crow pose! She urges students to find their individual greatest potential on and off the mat. Andrea’s yoga class philosophy is to work hard and play harder. She resides in Morgantown with her husband and two fur-kids.

Specialties: Helping people to connect with their joy, encouraging people to connect with themselves and dig deeper, inspiring people to write (especially if they think they can’t), creating a supportive group.
Over the years, my life has had three constants: creativity, connectivity, and the desire to inspire others. These have not only shaped my life and identity, but also enabled me to guide others. I have created using writing and art forms since I was able. I use my senses, meditation, journaling, quiet time, and yoga to help others and myself connect. My joy would be inspiring others to create space in their lives to restore, pause, and connect in between life’s chaotic rhythms, and to embrace delight and explore along the way. My workshops and classes are designed to guide participants to discover what is most effective for them for their current situation – after all, “there is no one way.” I teach an intuitive technique that encourages students to explore their capabilities, while honoring their bodies, and connecting with their breath, because I feel that learning to listen and respect your body is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. Some days you will feel ready to take on the world, on others, you need time to restore and balance. The key is learning to listen and honor your own unique rhythms.

As a Registered Yoga Teacher, Reki Master Teacher and Licensed Massage Therapist I am passionate about helping others on their journey to wellness. I work with each of my clients to individually tailor sessions that bring body and mind into balance. I have been studying the human energy system and energy healing for 13 years. I was originally schooled in Pranic Energy Healing in 2000 and received my Level 3 Reiki Certification in 2009.
I began studying meditation 12 years ago, began practicing Hatha yoga in 2009 and completed my 200 Hour teacher training in 2012. My passion for sharing yoga with others comes from the knowledge that yoga has the potential to transform us from the inside out. By creating a union between mind, body and breath, yoga establishes the welcoming path that leads us home to ourselves. I feel truly blessed to be on this journey and look forward to meeting you as I travel this path.
