Ashtanga Primer will be a detailed exploration of specific practices in Ashtanga Yoga that can get glossed over in an hour class in favor of “the flow’. Come practice jump-throughs, assist and adjusts, and the more difficult poses like arm balances – along with Ujjayi breath, bandhas (core work) and drishti (gaze). You’ll be amazed at what you can do!!
2 hour Ashtanga Practice adding in all the sun salutes and lots of the vinyasa, and as many of the postures as we can fit! Contact Mary Jo for more information about the Ashtanga Practice at: maryjo@theblissblissbliss.com.
Why should we not start a cleanse in January? Why are certain yoga poses calming and others stimulating? What are some best practices for meditation? Join Lauren Stinespring & Elizabeth Halliday-Reynolds on a year long journey to learn about Ayurveda. Each class will combine yoga, mediation, mantra, and breathing practices. Classes will support the unique constitution (ayurvedic dosha) of participants. We will offer teachings on seasonal and dosha supportive food choices, sacred routines that you can use to enhance your daily life and both simple and complex cleansing techniques that can support the physical body. While participants do not have to come to every class, the opportunity to learn the layers of Ayurveda through out the year will give repeat participants a deeper understanding. Employing an Ayurvedic approach over the course of a year can allow the body to slowly receive the teachings. You get to decide what aspects work for you at this time in your life. The class will meet at least every other month. Come to one or all. Cost: $35. Pre-Registration helpful: elizabeth@blissblissbliss.com.

Partner yoga is a modern twist on an ancient practice. By working with a partner you can stretch deeper and more effectively into poses – sometimes with less physical effort on your part, giving you insight into the full potential of a pose before you can achieve it on your own. It also fosters a deep sense of trust and connection – your experience is literally in each other’s hands (or feet, or back, or….)! Partner Yoga is most compatible with someone of similar size and ability; but sometimes the fun (and learning) is in adapting poses to fit a variety of sizes and abilities. The human body is able to sense proper force and support, to mold and adjust – making it the ideal “prop”. It is a fun, lighthearted, exploratory practice; and complements any style of individual Hatha yoga practice. Remembering and visualizing assists from Partner Yoga takes you deeper into poses when practicing alone. Appropriate for all levels of yoga experience; bring your own partner, or pre register if you need one.
Remember: If you do not have a friend, family member or partner, wanting to take this class with you, contact Mary Jo Schick (maryjo@theblissblissbliss.com) about your participation in this class. If you would enjoy a different time for this class let her know this too. Price: Use your yoga pass

Weekend Warrior is a dynamic balance of both yin and yang: action and repose, activity and receptivity, movement and stillness. And since these classes are separate you can choose what kind of Warrior you want to be! Please note that both hour-long classes will end in Savasana so if you are only able to get in one class you will have a complete practice.
Get started with a dynamic Vinyasa practice that will challenge and heat the body and burn away anything you no longer need.
Next, melt into a Yin practice. Yin is a series of poses, held for a longer period, while one sends their intention, breath and consciousness to the bodily sensations. This draws the life force (prana or chi) into the deeper meridians, which stimulates the immune system and rejuvenates the whole body. Yin Yoga is the gateway to a mediation practice!
End your time on the mat in a meditative state with a FREE 10 minute guided meditation.

The holidays are a time for connecting and expressing gratitude. Often times that also includes overindulging and feeling sluggish. This class will invoke the fire (agni) heat in an invigorating flow designed to melt away the stress and tension of the hectic holiday season while ridding the body and the mind of impurities. Be prepared to move and sweat in an energetically firm, even and consistent flow where we will open up the hips, strengthen the arms and core. Come ready to sweat, detox, and let go of what no longer serves you!
Don’t let the thought of 2 hours of yoga scare you off – we will be journaling our New Year’s Intentions at the beginning of our practice and finish with a much deserved extended relaxation!
