Coming To Bliss in June: Kansa Vatki Foot Massage
By Susan Walsh
The Kansa Vatki Foot Massage is a beautiful and relaxing modality which balances the body, mind and spirit. This unique treatment, steeped in centuries of Ayurvedic
ceremony, uses ghee (clarified butter) or coconut oil.
The massage is deeply revitalizing for tired feet and legs. Since the feet contain key energy and nerve endings relating to internal organs, a Kansa Vatki treatment also helps to re balance tri-dosha (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).

The heart of the treatment involves vigorously rubbing the soles of the feet with a 3-metal bowl to draw heat and toxins out of the body thereby inducing tremendous relaxation. The treatment is about 40 minutes in duration. Slowly and methodically, the toes, feet, ankles and calves are massaged. The treatment continues with special moves performed with the Kansa Vatki bowl, followed by a re balancing sequence of marma massage. All this special attention helps to detoxify and balance the body’s energies.
The Kansa Vatki Foot Massage makes a wonderful addition to reflexology and other bodywork.
