welcome to the new edition of asana of the month. instead of a picture you can look forward to a video. heidi agreed to be our first model and show us the restorative version of child’s pose. so take a look and find yourself sinking into a child’s pose. try to quiet the mind and enjoy your rest!

benefits:

  • gently stretches the hips, thighs, and ankles
  • calms the brain and helps relieve stress and fatigue
  • relieves back and neck pain when done with head and torso supported

cautions/contraindications:

  • diarrhea
  • pregnancy
  • knee injury: avoid balasana unless you have the supervision of an experienced teacher
