garudasana – eagle pose (seated)

Garuda = the mythic “king of the birds,” the vehicle of Vishnu.


benefits:

  • stretches the shoulders and upper back
  • improves concentration
  • provides stress release
  • gives relief to wrists

cautions/contraindications:

  • take a less intense stretch by giving yourself a hug (right over left then repeat with the other side)
